Transport: Travelling by Train, on Foot, by Aeroplane, by Car and by Bicycle

Look at these short conversation about transport. Practice them with a friend.

Travelling by train
Q. “Do you like commuting by train?”
A. “Yes, it only takes 15 minutes. The train starts at my station so I can usually get a seat.”
A. “No, I hate it! I have to change trains twice, and I can never get seat.”

Q. ”What’s your nearest station?”
A. “I live near Shinjuku station. It’s the busiest station in the world.”

Travelling on foot
Q. “Do you like walking?”
A. “Yes, I go for long walks most weekends.”
A. “No, I prefer driving.”

Q. ”Where do you go walking?”
A. “I go walking around Northern Kamakura.”

Travelling by aeroplane
Q. “Do you like flying?”
A. “Yes, I’ve flown lots of times but I still find it exciting.”
A. “No, I’m scared of flying.”

Q. ”What do you usually do on a long flight?”
A. “I usually just sleep! Sometimes I read a novel.”

Travelling by car
Q. “Do you like driving?”
A. “Yes, I often drive all over Honshu.”
A. “No, I can’t drive.”

Q. ”What kind of car do you drive?”
A. “I drive a Toyota Aqua. My daughter has a Nissan Note.”

Travelling by bicycle
Q. “Do you like cycling?”
A. “Yes, I ride my bike every day.”
A. “No, I always travel by train.”

Q. ”What kind of bicycle do you have?”
A. “I have an electric shopping bike. It’s very convenient.”
